Christmas Came Early

Since my family was here for graduation we celebrated christmas a little early with my family. It was so fun having them at my house and getting to cook a big christmas dinner. Which turned out wonderful. The day was full of cooking, opening presents, snowing, and watching football. It was the first time my dad had made it to Idaho to see our place. And he was expecting a little barn with a couple stalls. Well anyone that has seen where we live knows that a gigantic understatement. So his reaction was funny. That night we all walked down for the Why Worry Ranch christmas party. There was even more food, lots of friends, and dancing with a live band!! My family had to leave on Sunday, traveling in the worst weather. My dad was at the airport from 10:00 in the morning till 5:00 in the evening after his original flight was cancelled. I don't think he will be making a trip back anytime soon. But everyone made it home safely in the snow storm. Thanks again to my family, Merry Christmas!!

Graduation

Friday December 19, 2008 I graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelors of Business Administration; Marketing. It was absolutely the best day of my life, next to my wedding! And to make the day even more special my dad flew in from California, which is a big deal because 1) he hates to travel and 2) he hates anything cold. And my mom and Shane drove up from Southern Utah and my in-laws came all the way from Malad to see my walk across the stage. The day started off a little rough because I live an hour from campus and it had snowed throughout the night we left in plenty of time. I had to be checked in by 9:00. Well what we didn't plan for was the idiots on the road. It took us an hour to drive ten miles because there was an accident, which turned out to be two cars in the middle of the divide. Needless to say, I was an extremely upset girl and I feel really bad for everyone else in the car with me. But I made 30 minutes late for check-in but enough time to find my seat. Here are some pictures from graduation:

After the ceremony everyone went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. And then to keep the festivities going Nathan, mom, dad, Shane, and I went bowling. It was tons of fun because my mom and dad used to be on a bowling league way back in the day and are really good. Shane also brought some skills to the table and of course everyone beat Nathan, because he just isn't good at bowling. At the end of the second game my mom beat us all with my dad and I tied for second place. Below are Nathan, dad, and mom showing off their skills:

It was the greatest day I could of asked for. Thank you so much for those who came to support me. It meant the world to have all my wonderful family there.

Brady

I have come to realize the key to being a good blogger is having children. The bloggers who have kids always have stuff to write about. And since that is no reason for me to have a child. I thought I would share how wonderful Brady is. This is Brady's absolute favorite game in the whole wide world. He loves tug-o-war!! And it's especially cute because you can tell him to go get his leash from anywhere in the house and he immediately runs to go find it and will come crashing back into the room to want to play.

Thanksgiving

This year was a great one. Nathan and I went to Cedar City, Utah to spend Thanksgiving with my mom and Shane. The trip did not start out as well as we hoped but once we got there it was great. Thursday I helped my mom cook all the food and then we ate all the food and then we recovered from all the food. Afterwards, we drove up the mountain to Shane's brothers cabin and had tons of delicious pie with his family. There were so many pie's of course Nathan had to try one of each. It was snowing, the first snow I have seen all season. Friday was spent riding horses with mom and Shane. And then I drug them all to see Twilight.I loved the movie. And apparently I am out of the loop because everyone else around me has already read the books and I had no clue about them until the movie came out. So I immediately had to go get the books and I have been obsessed since. Nathan didn't care for the movie but now he asks whats going on the books while still trying to pretend to be uninterested.

The rest of our time in Cedar City was quite enjoyable. We rode again and had another movie night watching Wall-E, also very cute. Sunday we woke up early and drove to Malad, Idaho to hear Nate's family speak in church. It was a great vacation spent with family. Only I don't have any pictures, because I didn't take any, Sorry!

Dmitriy in Idaho

One of the greatest guys that I know from Sacramento came to visit me and Nathan in little ol' Glenns Ferry, Idaho. He came up the weekend before Thanksgiving and drove all by himself. I know Dmitriy from working together at a horse barn and shows. I would not be able to go to a horse show without this guy. The trip was a great time, he was able to ride a real reining horse and go trail riding. This is a picture of him turning Cash Us around.Cash Us is an awesome horse and did everything Dmitriy asked him to do. We also went into Boise for dinner and movie. We saw Role Models, absolutely hilarious!! The weekend was so fun and I loved seeing the smile on Dmitriy face when he got to ride. I am very happy to have such an awesome friend to drive all that way just for the weekend. Thank you. I can't wait till next time.

Where have we been?

I just realized that the latest entry was over a month ago. I guess that's what happens when your both super busy with work and school and don't have kids to write about. So here is a little update. School is almost over and therefore I will be graduating in three weeks. I can't believe I am done. I was beginning to think that this day would never come. Nathan has been busy riding horses as usual. He and Preston are getting ready for the big Arabian show in Scottsdale, Arizona in February. Well I guess that gets everyone up to speed!

Congratulations Glenn & Jennifer

On October 17, 2008 my big brother and Jennifer got married. Nathan and I had the opportunity to go to Sacramento and celebrate in their big day. It was a beautiful wedding at the Wine and Roses Winery in Lodi, CA. And much much warmer than it had been in Boise.... which makes me happy. The night was filled with an amazing dinner and great dancing. I am so happy for the two of them! And am thrilled to have Jennifer an official part of the family. We love you!! Congratulations.

Region III

Arabian Region III was in Reno, Nevada in July but I feel it necessary to go back and talk about it. Mostly because I just like to brag about how awesome Nathan is at his job!! Nathan showed three horses there; Nobles Top Gun, Sagehills Honey Bunny, and Spinner. In Arabian reining there are three classes that professionals can ride in; Purebred Open, Half-Arab Open, and the Futurity. At the end of the week Nathan was Champion in the Half-Arab Open with Bunny, Champion in the Futurity with Top Gun, and Reserve Champion Purebred Open with Spinner. Plus he had only ridden Spinner for a total of 6 days before he went in the class. Nobles Top Gun
Region III Reining Futurity Champion

Sagehills Honey Bunny
Region III Half Arabian Reining Open Champion

Like I said I think he is pretty awesome at his job. Don't forget to check back in February for Top Gun's Scottsdale Futurity debut.

Brady's 4th Birthday

Brady turned 4 years old on Saturday September 6th. Yes he may be "just a dog" to some people but anyone who really knows that couldn't be further from the truth. He is my child, my monster, pride and joy and my parents grand dog. You get the idea! So to celebrate his big day Nathan and I went to the store... well I Nathan tagged along and rolled his eyes at me... while I bought special canned dog food and pig ears to celebrate in a way that Brady would appreciate. We put the food in his bowl, lit a candle, and sang him happy birthday.
This is Brady giving a high five because he is so excited about his presents! You can now poke fun....

Softball Practice

When I heard Balihoo was creating a fall softball team I couldn't wait to play. But since I haven't played baseball in... well ever... Nathan and I decided to head to Boondocks to brush up on our skills.

Turns out it is a good thing that I am thing one playing softball and not Nathan because I kicked his butt. He may claim the baseballs are harder to hit than the softballs, but I don't buy that excuse.

We had a great time and it took us back to our younger days of go-karts, miniature golf, and arcade games... oh wait we still do that. But I had even more fun beating him.
And here is a picture of my totally awesome softball team, Balihoosonfirst, with pink thunder in the middle.

My first blog entry

Since this is my first time blogging it may take me awhile to get the hang of exactly how to do this. I thought this would be a nice idea to allow friends and family to know what Nate and I are up to. I will try and update this regularly, although I can't promise anything.
These days we are both extremely busy. Nathan is busy riding horses (big surprise) and getting ready to head to Reno with Annie the end of this month for the NRCHA. I am looking forward to graduating in December and desperately trying to hurry my last semester along. While going to school I am also working for Balihoo Creative, an advertising agency based here in Boise. We both love what we are doing in Boise and Glenns Ferry but hate being so far away from friends and family.
